Seriously if this movie doesn’t get you in the mood for the holidays nothing will, not even the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future. Gorgeous hand-drawn animation, brilliant voice acting, and a story that sparks that nostalgia Christmas magic
I had to look up to see what best this movie for the academy award, and yeah it’s hard to win against Toy Story but this movie is great, an instant classic.
Our hero Jesper is spoiled rich boy which is hilarious because this fictional world the post master general appears to be mega loaded and important (quick name the current post master general. I know I can’t)
He gets sent to the worst place on earth, is treated by Norm MacDonald and everything is awful. All the town does is fight. Honestly it’s a Christmas plot classic, everyone fights, Christmas brings everyone together
But it’s WONDERFUL Christmas origin story that’s fun and feels good. Like who cares if it hits all the obvious plot points, we have formulas for a reason cuz they work and they’re great. Give me the spoiled man finds heart and soul redemption plot any day
And we’ve got the heart-warming and sad story of our main man Klaus voiced by the always brilliant J.K Simmons. I felt it. I felt the heart break. And he’s also so wonderfully drawn. Have I mentioned how amazing the art of this movie is? Everyone and everything is beautiful
Amazing voice cast, gorgeous animation, wonderful story. Seeing those animated kids light up for toys made me nostalgic for that Christmas magic seriously watch it
