Sam Rami breathes fresh air into the Marvel formula. It’s not going to be for everyone it’s different, but different is good. Delivers on the visuals, a solid story, and a strange atmosphere make this a success
MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD
Doctor Strange is at times light, I’d even say one moment was a bit silly, but it’s also BRUTAL and dark, especially by marvel standards. Rami shows he’s still got the right touch for the genre
Elizabeth Olsen really brings so much life to the Scarlett Witch. An excellent performance. Cumberbatch once again feels like the perfect cast. And Gomez has a fine debut as America Chavez (who I admit knew existed in the comics but knew nothing about)
It felt different. But I loved it. Stray from the formula, take chances. Was it perfect? No. Was it damn good? I sure felt so. The visuals are absolutely wild, it’s a whole experience. A very good one.
