Listen. When you fire up this movie you know (sort of?) what you’re getting into. The worst movie ever made. We’re talking boom mics in view, trashed footage from other movies, people with scripts on set on camera!
So yes, it’s awful. Unquestionably awful. Dialogue was written awkward and clunky, the movie would constantly contradict itself, the acting is D movie bad, there’s only like 5 sets used and their all awful. And the aliens just look like humans It’s bad, lazy and cheap $60,000
But that’s why you’re watching it! That’s why you’re enjoying it, I recommend with a couple adult beverages and some good friends. It’s worth a few laughs. I lost it more than once it’s wretched! It’s perfect!
Ed Wood probably thought he made himself a spooky movie with a nice anti war humans are gonna keep blowing up shit until they blow up everything movie but his purpose only becomes clear when a character has a 3 minute monologue where he literally calls humans idiots It’s great
And for SOME REASON the aliens who want to stop humans from being dumb, plans 1-8 failed. So we are on plan 9… RESURRECTING THE DEAD!?!? How is that gonna accomplish their goal? I don’t know and neither does anyone in the film!
If you love trash cinema like I do and haven’t seen this movie, rectify that. It’s barely over an hour long.
But let me say this… after having finally seen this movie and being a lover of The Room, I feel a judgement can be rendered for the crown of undisputed worst movie ever made…
The Room. Plan 9 you had a great run, 40 years at the top. But The Room for me is the king of the trash
