Rob Zombie’s attempt at the Halloween franchise is a big swing and a miss. Zombie’s movie feels like two movies shoved into one movie’s run time and that’s never a good thing.
The first half of the movie gives a deep dive into Michael’s tragic childhood. And while it is the more interesting of the two movies in this movie, it’s a choice that feels off when you decided to turn on a Halloween movie and expected to see Myers being Myers
The second half of the movie feels like a very rushed remake of the original Halloween. But since we get no time with these characters we feel nothing as Michael slaughters the town. The fast pacing allows for zero tension, and you find yourself checking the runtime…
Halloween (2007) is a huge miss in every cinematic level. But it’s fun to watch and laugh with friends so that’s a positive thing to say about it
